Mystic Lady Slipper's Walk

A guided hike through the Peace Sanctuary preserve to look for pink lady slippers (a native wildflower) and other blooming wild flowers, is set for
Friday, May 22, 6 p to 8 p.m.

Walkers can enjoy hors d’oevres, wine and cheese after the exploration, at Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center, 109 Pequotsepos Rd., Mystic. Cost is $15. For information and to reserve a spot, call (860) 536-1216.

Lady's slippers can live up to 50 years, and may take up to 16 years to produce their first flower. It is illegal to pick the flowers or to uproot or unearth the plants.
